More about the car
Fatboyz Racing is as much about the people as it is about the car. It really all began when Bradley McCracken picked up a 250ci in-line six-pot XA that ran like a dream. The very same car you see at the track, kinda.
Brad was planning to build a neat streeter and Bevan’s cousin just happened to have an XB rust bucket that was prepared to donate its V8 motor, gearbox and 9" to the XA as a straight swap-over. Cool.
During the swap the 351 got a screw dropped down inside after sitting in Bevan’s shed for a couple of years. When we fired it up it wasn’t happy about it and didn’t want to play anymore. So a rebuild was needed, just a mild one, $23 grand later this is what we’ve got.
That was then.
Somewhere along the way, the XA has turned into a serious Super Street racer with a PB of 10.89 thanks to a full engine build by Allen Greene – as in Allen Greene of 5 second nitro funny car fame.
And Now?
Well, you've seen the news page, the XA was booted out at the end of the 2007-08 season for "going too fast".
So the team is working madly to try to get the car ready for Super Sedan 2009-10 season. Keep an eye on the news pages to see how we go.
