OLD GOSSIP
31-12-06: Lack of news??? ...
OK, the website editor needs to
apologise for the lack of news updates.
It's not that there hasn't been any,
she's just been a little
pre-occupied. So, as a quick recap of
what's happened over the last month.
Our Skinnygirl Ash turned 17 and got her
license, next step is to start training,
and hopefully we'll see her on the track
in the
future.
Bevan received the body for his hotrod
(you know the one you're waiting to read
the article about?). And he's been
busily working
on attaching it to his chassis.
Mick moved his chassis and engine to
"Bev's Shed" and has been working on
that also, as much as time permits.
And the Brad acheived a personal best on
the 1st December with a 11.19sec pass.
The past two meets have been successful
in regards to seeing what the car and
driver are capable of, and also seeing
some
consistency in our times. Brad's
reaction times and launches are looking
good, and the team is generally working
really well
together.
Happy New year to all. Be merry and be
safe.
12-11-06: The drama of the last
week is over ...
With all hands on deck... and I do
mean everyone in the team turned out to
lend a hand, the XA is making beautiful
music again.
Looks like we'll be ready. Just a few
little bits and pieces to tidy up
through the week, and we'll be racing
again. Thanks to
everyone for helping out.
09-11-06: Another year older for our
Crew Cheif ...
A big happy birthday to Bevan from all
your fans. Another year older, another
year wiser??
05-11-06: uh-oh there's trouble
in the shed...
The day started out innocently
enough, with Mick and Bevan getting
ready to install a new shifter, only to
look under the hoist
and discover a small brake leak. Then
Mick checked the levels and condition of
the fluids only to discover something he
didn't
want to know..... Looked like a blown
head gasket... Oh Boy, that's a bit of
work to get through. So all hands on
deck, to install
the shifter, then fix the brake leak,
then with the light fading on the
weekend they made a start on finding the
cause of water in
the sump.
Phew, only blown, no water damage, no
water in the pistons, nothing
cracked...... So next weekend is
cleaning out all that
contaminated oil, replacing the gasket,
and putting it all back together....
(plus all the other stuff that goes with
it, if you're a
knowledgeable car nut.) Big job for
some, but the boys will work like dogs
to get it done so they can be racing
again on the
18th... Fingers crossed.
29-10-06: SkinnyGirl turns 18
A big happy birthday to one of our
SkinnyGirls who turned 18 during the
week. All the fatboyz and skinnygirls
joined in the
celebrations, and all had a wonderful
time. Best wishes for the year ahead.
21-10-06: A Big Thanks
Before we get into the details of
how we did, we need to say thankyou to
those dedicated soles who helped us out
in the off
season. Wade from Forrestfield Auto
Electrics for all the work he did in
hooking up the NOS system, and the added
bonus of
making our trailer visible in the dark.
It looks great Wade... Thanks to Steve
from Palmer Signs for popping around to
the Shed
on Friday before the meet, and putting
all the stickers in place. They look
fantastic, and I'm sure our other
sponsors will be happy
to see they're names nice and clear on
the car. Thanks to Terry for fixing up
that ugly bit of cancer in the door.
You're a Star
mate, and we hope to race with you again
at nostalgia. And last but certainly not
least, thanks to all our sponsors who've
come
on board this season. We hope to make
you proud.
21-10-06: The first Meet of the
season
The first meet of the season was a
bit different for us this year.... we
were ready!! Now the secret is out about
what's been
happening at the shed in the off season.
Alot of little fixups, and the
installation of the NOS system. Well, as
you can see by our
times, (11.29 was the best), the NOS is
working for us.
Brad surprised everyone, even himself
with an awesome performance in the
drivers seat, especially when he pulled
out an 11.55
on an 11.55 dialin with an 0.025
reaction time. Well done.
We finished the day with a broken fan
belt (for those of you who were
concerned about the towtruck ride back
down the track.)
Nothing serious. So see you all again
next meet for some more fast times Happy
Fatboyz all 'round.
